　　故事开始于1955年的纽约布鲁克林区，哈里·安格尔（米基·洛克 饰）是个胡子不剃、不停抽烟的私家侦探，专门调查离婚案。一天，一个自称叫路易斯·赛佛雷（罗伯特·德尼罗 饰）的神秘外国人找到了他，要他去寻找一个叫弗沃里特的歌唱家。这项任务钱很多，看起来也很轻松，哈里就接受了。 但是，哈里在调查中发现，自己所接触的每个与这件事情有关的人，都逐一被杀害：医生福勒、玛格丽特（夏洛特·兰普林 饰）、黑人音乐家图茨、伊桑。渐渐他发觉到事情的严重与神秘，自己也深陷其中，无法自拔。

为了寻找真相，她坠入黑暗的深渊不论技巧、美貌或个性，被誉为「跳水天后」的怡玲（申敏儿饰演）看似拥有一切，然而她唯一的遗憾，就是无法跟好友秀珍（李裕英饰演）一起游泳。为了帮助秀珍，怡玲将她的主要活动变更成水上芭蕾。就在两位好友倾注一切努力的同时，两人却因为一场意外，让秀珍消失得无影无踪。怡玲虽然活了下来，却也因此失去记忆。当怡玲慢慢恢复记忆时，脑海中却浮现秀珍完全不知道的另一面，也动摇了她在跳水之路上的信念…

　　PARK Duk-joon is an old man living by himself. Every night, he suffers from insomnia attacks brought on by disturbing flashes from his dark past. He tries in vain to pray and find solace in religion. His only friend is Mrs. LEE, a church elder who gives him weekly church bulletins. Mrs. LEE invites him to a testimonial at her church. Duk-joon is surprised to see the face of the speaker. He is LIM Gwang-han, Duk-joon’s former superior officer from his days as a police interrogator in the 80s. They meet for the first time in years, Gwang-han brings up Duk-joon’s painful past again.

　痴情的男人迈克尔（迈克尔·福斯 Michael Fuith 饰）从维也纳来到柏林，只为寻找与之分手的女友加比·哈瑞斯（安娜·格拉泽克 Anna Graczyk 饰）。他来到加比的公寓，然而房间内空空如也，空气中甚至弥漫着一丝不祥的气息。突然，似乎整个世界陷入了疯狂，许多人被一种神秘病毒所感染，继而摇身变作丧失人性、嗜血如命的恐怖丧尸。他们四处围捕正常人，柏林处于瘫痪状态，人人自危。迈克尔与一个年轻的水管修理工学徒哈伯被困在公寓中，他们不仅要提防丧尸的侵扰，还要想方设法逃出这片绝地。

　　Like Fritz Lang, David Fincher or Bong Joon Ho before him, talented debut filmmaker Lado Kvataniya uses the concept of police detective vs serial killer for an excitingly stylised, macabre and haunting narrative, that ultimately revolves around the identity of an era: in this case, the late 1980s Soviet Union. With Glasnost and the end of communist rule, the West also learned of the (unsurprising) fact that there were serial killers in Russia too – the most notorious case probably that of Andrei Chikatilo, nicknamed the Rostov Ripper, or the Russian Hannibal Lecter.
　　Based on these and many other sources, Kvataniya and screenwriter Olga Gorodetskaya constructed an immersive psychological puzzle, jumping back and forth in time, to reveal ever new-possible motives for the actions of all the protagonists. It all starts in 1990, when Detective Issa Davydov is celebrating his promotion and receives a call, reporting a crime that looks precisely like the ones of the serial killer that he famously captured some years before ...
